The standard method for line
selection is to use a reflective grating in the laser cavity as the dispersion
element.
Range of wavelength
For CO2 lasers, the line
tuning range is from 9.17 µm to 10.8 µm. With special isotope gas
fill the wavelength range can be extended to 11.3 µm. The number of lines
is over 40 for the lowest power laser, LASY-4G, to over 80 for the highest power

Auto-tuning,
manual tuning or fixed single line
The tuning can be manual
or automated with digital tuning. For customers who only need one specific laser
line, we offer a fixed single line version of the grating tuned laser with increased
stability at a lower cost.
Grating-less
line tuning - a low cost, high quality alternative
The interaction between
laser cavity longitudinal modes and CO2 molecular spectral lines allows tuning
laser lines without a grating. For those who use the laser indoors and are satisfied
with limited spectral range this method provides a more economical alternative
to the grating tuned lasers. It is also more efficient compared to grating tuned
